Baby Carrier FAQs ✨
Q: How old can I start babywearing little one, is the carrier suitable for newborns?
A: Absolutely! You can start babywearing as early as the journey home after delivery. Our baby carriers are designed to create a snug, womb-like environment, making them ideal for your newborn’s first days. They’re suitable for supporting your baby through their first year {or up to 35lbs/14kg} – just a quick note: your little one must weigh at least 6lbs/ 3kg to use the carrier safely.
Q: How long can I use this carrier for?
A: Our carriers are designed to be your go-to for your little one’s first year! While some parents have enjoyed babywearing beyond that, we highly recommend starting early—our carriers are a game-changer for snuggles and hands-free parenting from newborns up to around 10–11 months. The ergonomic design ensures both your baby and you stay comfortable during this time, with ample support for your baby’s developing body and your back, even during long wearing sessions. Once your little one starts toddling and learning to walk, you may want to explore more structured carriers, but for those precious early months, nothing beats the softness, wrap-around cuddle comfort, and practicality of ours!
Q: Why is a soft structured carrier recommended for little one’s in their first year to a structured carrier?
A: Soft structured carriers are ideal for newborns and babies in their first year, as their bodies are still developing with soft bones and muscles. A soft structured carrier gently cradles your baby in an ergonomic position, mimicking the natural support of your arms while ensuring proper hip and spine alignment. As your little one grows stronger {13 months+}, firmer structured carriers become more suitable to support their increased weight and activity.
Q: Is breastfeeding doable with baby inside the carrier?
A: Oops sorry, while we don’t offer specific step-by-step guidance for breastfeeding in our carriers, it’s definitely possible! Many moms in our community have found creative and comfortable ways to nurse while babywearing. It might take a little experimentation to find what works best for you and your little one, but with some practice, you’ll likely discover your perfect approach.
Q. Is the carrier suitable to hold twins?
A: Unfortunately, no – our baby carrier is specifically designed to carry one baby at a time. For parents of twins, you might need a separate carrier for each little one to ensure their safety and comfort.
Q. Does the carrier meets standards?
A. Absolutely! Our carriers have undergone rigorous testing and are certified under the ASTM F2907 standard for the U.S, ensuring they meet all necessary safety requirements for baby carriers. The International Hip Dysplasia Institute has recognised our carriers as a hip-healthy product when used as directed, ensuring that the design supports proper hip positioning.
Q. Will the fabric actually overstretch and lose its shape?
A. Rest assured, our fabric has been thoughtfully designed and rigorously tested to provide the perfect balance of elasticity and rigidity needed to support your little one. While the fabric will naturally stretch to adapt to your body shape and accommodate your baby’s growing weight, there is a predefined limit to the stretch ensuring the carrier’s stability and functionality remain intact.
Q. Does the baby carrier comes with any booklets, what is in the package?
A: Each baby carrier package includes the carrier itself, an additional sash for extra waist support, a handy small pouch for storage, and informative booklets with clear instructions on how to use the carrier properly.
Q. How can I best care for my baby carriers?
A: To keep your carrier in great shape, we recommend washing it on a gentle machine cycle and separately from other fabric!
NOTE: do not dry clean, tumble dry, or iron the carrier.
Q. Will both parents be able to share a carrier?
A: For the custom fit carriers, mom and dad will not be able to share a carrier as they comes in pre-made sizes {XS, S, M, L and XL} and they’re designed to suit the size of the wearer. This means that if mom is in the S size range and dad is in the M size range, both parents won’t be able to share the same carrier. Our custom-fit carriers can only be shared if both parents fall within the same size and/or weight range. Should parents prefer to share a carrier, we recommend exploring our adjustable range instead.
Q. Is there any reason why parents are unable to share the custom fit carriers?
A: The custom-fit carriers are designed in pre-made sizes to match the specific size range of the wearer. For example, if mom is a size S and dad is a size M, dad may find the size S too tight, causing discomfort for both him and the baby. On the other hand, if mom tries a size M, it may be too loose and uncomfortable. We do NOT recommend sizing up, as a larger or loose carrier will not only be uncomfortable but also potentially risky for your little one. If both mom and dad want to share a carrier, we suggest considering our adjustable range instead OR alternatively, consider purchasing only one carrier in the size of the parent who will use it most. Once little one is comfortable, you can consider getting a second carrier in the other parent’s size.
Q. How many carriers types are there?
A: Our carriers come in three different types:
- custom fit in cotton
- custom fit in mesh
- adjustable in mesh
NOTE: our adjustable carriers size ranges from only size S to XL – if you’re in the XS size range, we recommend opting for the custom-fit carriers instead.
Q. How are the carriers different?
A: Our mesh carriers are made with a blend of polyester and spandex, offering enhanced breathability, while the cotton version combines polyester, cotton, and spandex for a softer, cushier fit.
Q. Should I get a bigger size when baby is getting bigger/ growing older?
A: No, we don’t recommend sizing up as your baby grows. The carrier’s spandex blend naturally stretches to accommodate your baby’s growth. It’s important that the carrier fits the wearer properly first—if it’s too loose, it becomes uncomfortable and doesn’t support either the wearer or baby – a larger size will also cause the carrier to sag as baby’s weight increases, compromising both comfort and safety.
Q. How do I pick a right size for the carriers?
A: To ensure the best fit, we recommend choosing the size based on the wearer’s pre-pregnancy weight {for dads: usual weight}
NOTE: the carrier is designed to fit snugly against the body, so it may feel slightly tight when you first wear it. Q. My carrier feels very tight and a wrong fit, can I do a size exchange?
A: Absolutely! We do allow size exchanges—more information on exchanges can be found HERE. However, before proceeding with an exchange, we recommend doing a virtual fit check, as the issue might sometimes be due to improper wearing. It’s important that the carrier fits snugly to evenly distribute baby’s weight and keep them safe, ensuring they’re well-secured against your chest without excessive movement
