At Japheth Chiara, we are driven by a simple yet powerful belief: education is a fundamental right that every child deserves. Despite its transformative potential, millions of children worldwide are denied this basic opportunity due to poverty. Education doesn’t just offer knowledge; it breaks the cycle of poverty, opens doors to better futures, and empowers communities. Yet, many families face harsh realities: choosing between education and survival.
According to the United Nations, 244 million children and youth cannot attend school due to poverty. This staggering statistic fuels our commitment. Beyond our role as a baby products company, we are committed to use our platform to promote accessible education for children.
Our vision is clear: a world where children have access to quality education. And we’re dedicated to making this vision a reality, ensuring that every child not only has a better chance in life through education but also becomes inspired to positively contribute to their communities.
OUR GIVING PHILOSOPHY
It’s not just a catchy phrase; we’re making progress, but there’s more to be done! Securing education for every child, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, presents significant challenges. In many developing countries, children face long distances to schools, overcrowded classrooms, and limited educational materials, turning learning into a daily struggle rather than a given opportunity. That’s why we partner with incredible, high-impact organizations dedicated to overcoming these barriers, ensuring every child, regardless of their circumstances, has a chance to receive the education they deserve. OUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO DATE
Since Q2 2021, we’ve committed to 10-year sponsorship for six children, significantly transforming their lives alongside other contributions efforts like:
- rehabilitating 800 malnourished children in the Philippines
- training health workers in infant care in the Philippines
- supporting child labourers in Bangladesh to return to school
- partnering with churches to assist youths in Zambia
- promoting hygiene education & providing handwashing supplies in Myanmar

Our goal is to extend 10-year sponsorships to two additional children.
Estimated cost: $10800 based on SGD $45 per child each month
Building a new classroom for a dilapidated school in Cambodia
Estimated cost: $3,000 per classroom
OUR NEXT STEPS
Building on our previous contributions, starting August 9, 2024—a date chosen to commemorate Singapore’s birthday—we are formalizing our commitment by dedicating 10% of our profits to our 2024 goals. This includes supporting our “Build a Classroom Campaign” to enhance educational facilities and expanding our efforts to sponsor additional children. By allocating this percentage of our profits, we aim to create a measurable and meaningful impact. With your support, we are confident we can achieve these goals together.
